Glossary

This glossary explains the core terms shown in this result page, including table fields, chart labels, relationship checks, and missing-input notes. Each term tells you what it is and how to read it in the result.

Annual pillar
The stem-branch pair for the selected year.
Flow year
The selected year being compared with the birth chart.
Li Chun boundary
The point where the BaZi year changes. It may not be January 1.
Day Master relation
How the year's stem relates to the Day Master.
Day branch relation
How the year's branch relates to the chart's day branch.
Luck background
The 10-year luck phase that contains this year, when enough birth data is available.
Annual branch
The branch character in the annual pillar.
Element movement
Whether the year's element supports, drains, or pressures the Day Master.
Flow month
A month inside the selected year, counted by solar terms.
Converted start
The local converted time when that solar term or month begins.
Compact result table
The first table to read on a result page. The left column names the item, the middle column gives the result, and the right column explains how to read it.
Item
The left column in the result table. It tells you what this row is checking, such as the main anchor, timing, relationship, or chart source.
Result
The middle column in the result table. It gives the calculated answer or current state without making you hunt through long text.
Reading
The right column in the result table. It explains what the result means and why that row matters.
Conclusion
The first judgment on the page. Read it first to get the direction, then use the rows below to check the details.
Result note
Extra context for the conclusion. It explains how to read the result without treating one term as an absolute verdict.
Chart label
A name, number, or position shown in a visual chart. It turns table data into a faster visual check.
Missing-input note
A note that explains why part of the result cannot be completed yet, usually because birth time, gender, or second-person data is missing.
Selected year
The year being read. The result applies to that year only.
Flow-year start
The selected year's stem-branch label starts at Li Chun, not always on January 1.
Before Li Chun
If the date is before Li Chun, BaZi can still read it as the previous flow year.
Next flow year
The next stem-branch year after the next Li Chun boundary.
Flow year and natal pillars
A comparison between the year's stem-branch pair and the natal year, month, day, and hour pillars.
Flow-year branch relation
The relation between the year's branch and the natal branches, such as harmony, clash, harm, or repetition.
Starting solar term
The solar term that starts a month row in the yearly month table.
Flow-month pillar
The stem-branch pair for a month inside the selected year.
Current luck background
The 10-year phase that contains the selected year when enough birth data is available.
Luck branch and flow-year branch
The relation between the 10-year phase branch and the selected year's branch.
Missing birth time
Birth time is not known, so some hour-pillar and timing background cannot be connected.
Missing gender
Gender is only used for the 10-year direction and start age. The year can still be read, but the broader background is incomplete.
Annual flow wheel
The visual that places the selected year in the center and the twelve solar-term months around it.
Forecast year
The year chosen by the user. The result is scoped to this year.
Natal anchor
The natal Day Master and day branch used as the anchor for year comparisons.
Annual pillar and solar-term months
The chart title means: read the year's stem-branch pair first, then the twelve solar-term months.

Tool FAQ

Why is the selected year checked against Li Chun?

BaZi annual timing usually changes at Li Chun, not at midnight on January 1. Dates before Li Chun can still belong to the previous BaZi year.

Why does annual reading mention the luck cycle?

A year is read inside a broader 10-year phase. When birth time and gender are available, the page can place the annual pillar in that background.

Can I choose a year other than 2026?

Yes. The page accepts a forecast year and recalculates the annual pillar, boundary, and chart interactions for that year.

Is this a guaranteed prediction?

No. It is a structured traditional timing reading, useful for reflection and planning, not a guaranteed event forecast.
