Inputs
Use the Gregorian birth date from an official record, the recorded local clock time, and the time zone or UTC offset in effect at birth. If birth time is unknown, the hour pillar and some timing details are left incomplete.

Calendar rules
Year and month pillars follow solar-term boundaries, including Li Chun for the BaZi year. The day and hour pillars depend on the recorded civil time and the selected time-zone rule.

The reading centers on the Day Master, then compares stems, branches, hidden stems, Five Elements, Ten Gods, branch relations, luck pillars, and annual pillars. Charts and tables show the source of each main signal.
